about ilke bee
As a gardener and an artist, I am delighted to be able to combine my love for nature with an artistic approach.

My work as a gardener was consolidated by my two Permaculture Design Course (PDC) certificates:

1. Geoff Lawton's online and interactive PDC, Permaculture Research Institute, Australia, 2015 (as well as his two bonus courses "Earth Works" and "Reading the Landscape")

2. PDC diploma with great distinction :-) at ACS Distance Education, UK, 2015
I am especially proud and excited about the Geoff Lawton diploma allowing me "to work as a consultant, teacher or designer and restore land to its natural abundance". :-) Geoff Lawton is a student of one of the fathers of permaculture, the late Bill Mollison. In his course, Geoff Lawton really gave me a deeper understanding of creating a resilient garden, which is quite important in the context of climate change and times of historic loss of biodiversity.

In addition to these two main courses, I participated at many workshops and smaller courses on biodversity, on the importance of soil life, on composting, on wildlife habitats, on orchard maintenance, scything, etc. I had many guided tours in permaculture and natural gardens. and I devoured many many books on these topics in the past years. Today, I also give presentations and host workshops myself on these topics, both in English and Dutch.

Parallel with the start of my artistic career, I started with the design of my own garden at my summer house in Denmark, which I regard as my playground and open door lab :-). Gaining courage with the successes there, I started with the desgin of gardens of friends of mine and then my first real clients in Belgium. I hope to do many more gardens for biodiversity in the future.
